Patriotism in the U.S.A
One day Joe went outside and saw that he was the only one without an American flag. He wasn’t the friendliest neighbor either; he was more of the quite guy in the corner. But he got over his fear of meeting new people and knocked on his neighbor’s door. He asked “where do you buy an American Flag.” The neighbors where delighted to see him. They told him to buy one at Ace hardware, after he bought it the two people became very good friends. So that shows patriotism can lead to new friendships.
On the other hand a patriot in my words is somebody who really loves their country and does as much as they can for it. Such as a person in the military, they love their country so much they are willing to defend it. The most common definition for it is a love and devotion to a country for no other reason than being a resident there. But there are many other definitions because somebody’s love for their country cannot be described by one person’s words.
Equally important the U.S.A was the number one country for patriotism in a 1990 survey. Then later in 1995 they took another survey and the U.S.A was still number one. This has been a part of America for a very long time, way past the declaration of Independence. In which was really the birth of America. Did you know that patriotism is a Greek word which means fellow countryman, and originates from the early 18 hundreds.
In conclusion it is important to have patriotism because it can be respected by everyone. Just having love for your country is a very good form of Patriotism. It may even help you be more social. To meet new people, all by doing one thing and that is having patriotism.
